This week in literacy, we will…
Learn that an open syllable ends with a single vowel that makes its long sound
Construct and read two-syllable words in which the first syllable is open
Construct and read words containing long vowel Silent e syllables
Read The Hungry Fly, by Hannah Cales. While reading, we will use repeating patterns to monitor accuracy. We will infer the important idea from the book and make connections between text and labeled photographs. We will also recognize simple plurals, notice and count syllables, and read words with initial consonant clusters.
Read a poem titled, The Little Green Frog. While reading, we will locate are read words with vowel combinations
