Wear green/nature clothing on Monday for our rescheduled stewardship day! Also wear long pants and socks!

This week in literacy, we will…

  • Blend sounds to produce words with s-blends.

  • Spell words with s-blends

  • Read irregularly spelled words (call, from, which, very).

  • Read and write words with final blends.

  • Read a Poem titled, Five Little Leaves. We will identify rhyming words in the poem, locate high frequency words we know and notice -ing endings in words.

  • Read The Big, Green, Scary Monster by Judith Nayer.  While reading, we will infer the feelings of characters and make connections between text and illustrations. We will also make predictions about what might happen next.

This week in writing, we will…

  • The students will first complete a planning sheet working on the opinion process, then write about if they think the main character should get an iguana for a pet or not.  They will get to do a fun art project too!

This week in math, we will….

  • Play domino flash to help us with our subitizing and math facts
